This is the perfect trip for those who wish to experience the mountains, culture, and beauty of Tibet in a relatively short period of time. Our guides worked personally with our veteran Tibetan staff to design a trip, which encompasses visits to the capital of Buddhist Culture, Lhasa, to small villages, monasteries, and awe inspiring mountain landscapes. Our trek starts in Kathmandu, Nepal. Here we will explore the historic capital city of Lhasa. Taking time to relax and get to know the Tibetan people. We have a casual couple days including visiting the famous Potala Palace, witnessing Buddhist monks in prayer, and visiting small picturesque temples in and around the city. We will also visit the Tibet Guide School and get the chance to witness young Tibetans learning a new profession in the adventure tourism industry. We can volunteer to work with these exceptional young men and women, helping out with teaching or just having a conversation and touring their school.After our time in Lhasa, we will spend a couple days driving across the Tibetan plains on our way to Everest basecamp. We will stop along the way in Shigatse and Shegar to acclimatize properly. Once in basecamp we will spend days, depending upon the time we have,relaxing and exploring the climbing culture or back right away .
