Trekking around Gokyo Valley in Everest trekking region is considered a remarkably traditional amazingly moderate though this GokyoRi trek in Nepal situated in the area of one of the high lands of the world. Gokyo RI trek offers magnificent views of the mountain peaks and the Ngozumpa Glacier- the largest in the Nepal Himalayas. The image of this region is highly associated with the soaring views of the most popular mountains in Nepal, at the height of 8000m such as Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu. These Himalays mentioned above are clearly visible from Gokyo RI above Gokyo Lake. One of the most remarkable features in Gokyo RI trek is the view of the tremendous ice ridge between Cho Oyu and Gyachung (2922m) located in Khumbu trekking region in Nepal.
Forty minutes flight from Kathmandu leads at Lukla-a tiny airstrip, the adventure really begins from Lukla-trekking starting point in trekking in Nepal-Gokyo RI trek in Everest region. We will spend the next few days trekking and interacting amongst the mountain people also known as Sherpa. We stay at local lodges and trek into the heartland of their villages. Everything is organized in an association with local Sherpa guides. Along the trek, we will pass Buddhist monasteries with the views of Everest and other snow towering mountains getting closer day by day in our Gokyo RI mountain walking trip.
We will have rest day in Namche bazaar- a well facilitated market in the Everest region. It is a kind of extra color that adds its difference factor and will allow us to explore the region and to acclimatize, which is very important. After we are there in Gokyo RI trek, trekking to Gokyo RI (5483 meters), we return at a leisurely pace back to Namche and Lukla for our flight back to Kathmandu which ends our very program.
