Kanchanjungha is situating at the height of 28,198'(8,586m). Kanchanjungha is the third highest mountain in the world and second highest in Nepal. It was first climbed by the British in 1956 .Lying on the Nepal-Sikkim Border. The lush, rich landscape of the Kanchanjungha area is an Ideal environment for mosk deer, blue sheep and the infamous yeti. Few westerners have traveled to this remote area. Kanchanjunga, at 8,586m, is the third-highest peak in the world and the second-highest in Nepal. It was first climbed by a British team in 1956. The peak consists of four summits. The west summit, Yalung Kang; 8420m high and some people classify it as a separate 8000m Peak. Expedition in Nepal is very famous and expedition in Kanchanjungha is also famous. Kanchenjunga expedition is loved by adventurous expedition team because of its toughness and technicality. Trekking is equally famous for international trekkers. As we have to trek up to Kanchanjungha Base camp for the expedition as well, people who come here only for trekking without keeping anything about expedition in their mind will be tempted for the expedition for its unique structure.
We will fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and then on over the trail plain and mountains to the airfield at Taplejung. From here we will begin our trek, following a route along a ridge top towards the Tamor River where we will enjoy panoramic views of Mt. Makalu (8463m), and Chamlang (24,000') peaks. We will continue through forests and rhododendron thickets and soon the Kanchanjungha range will appear. Before approaching Kanchenjunga Himal itself, we will not be bored because you will be enjoying with the views of Mt. Makalu which one of the highest Mt in Nepal and it is also very famous for expedition and Mt. Makalu Expedition is another famous spot in Nepal. Similarly, chamlang peak is another attraction of the trip while trekking to Kanchanjungha Base Camp for its expedition.
Our route will continue up the Tamor river through Limbu villages to the terraced mountain side village of Amjilessa and the legendary Sherpa village of Ghunsa (11,400').
We will visit the monastery there and soon have our first glimpse of a sea of unclimed peaks including Jannu (25,289'), Known as "Mystery peak" or "Terror". We will trek to the edge of Kanchanjungha Glacier and, after crossing the lateral moraine, will come to the junction of the Lhonak Glacier (15,680') and the vally.we will cut across at this junction and arrive at our campsite at Lhonak. After a couple of days of rest and exploration at Lhonak. Including a day trip to Pangphema (16,900') to see the north face of Kanchanjungha, we will head south to Yalung Glacier. We will cross one of two passes, the Lapsang La (16,760') or Margin La (15,300'), depending on which is the safest to cross, into the Simbua Khola valley and camp at Ramcher (14,000'). We will rest and explore the stunningly beautiful area of the Yalung Glacier and the Southern face of Kanchanjungha, and then begin our trek back.
