The legendary peak of Everest dwarfs other mountains in many ways, from its legacy as mountaineerings ultimate prize to the spiritual esteem in which the Sherpa people hold it. We set out on a magnificent 10-days trek through the ancient Sherpa villages cradled below Chomolungma, Mother Goddess of the Snows, culminating in our visit to thriving Tengboche Monastery, heart of the Khumbu, from which Everest’s triangular diamond summit is unmistakable amid a cirque of breathtaking peaks. Much of the joy of this spectacular trek is getting to know the Sherpa people, visiting Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and lively trailside teahouses, sipping homemade chang (beer made from barley) with new-found friends, and learning how Tibetan Buddhism influences every aspect of Sherpa life.

Adventure Zone Trekking & Expedition P.LTD is one of the Specialists in small group treks, tours, and climbing expeditions in the himalayan region, Everest base camp trek, annapurna trekking and other trekking inNepal.Mount Everest Base Camp has been a popular destination for trekkers since the very first expeditions to the Nepalese side of Everest in the 1953. To reach this part of the Himalaya within a limited time, we have devised this two weeks trek to Everest Base Camp which runs directly to and from Lukla. The Everest Base Camp trek, a very well known mountain trek, starts at the upper Phakding and follows the Dudh Kosi valley which climbs up to the Sherpa capital of Namche, a bustling bazaar that’s a junction for trekkers, the local Sherpa and expeditions en route to the mighty Mt. Everest. All along this part of the trail, villages are interspersed with magnificent forests of rhododendron, magnolia and giant firs. In both the early autumn and late spring, the flowers on this portion of the trek make it the kind of walk you will remember for a long, long time.

From Namche, we trek along a high traversing path where we have our first good views of Everest and then head towards Thyangboche Monastery, which is a 2 hour climb. The monastery sits at 3867m in a clearing surrounded by dwarf first and rhododendrons. The monastery is structurally located on a ridge top with commanding views of the Everest landscape. The view from this spot, seen to best advantage in the morning, is absolutely mesmerizing and stunning and is rightly deemed to be one of the most magnificent in the world. We then descend to the Imja Khola and continue to the villages of Pangboche and Pheriche before finally approaching the Khumbu Glacier. We then follow the glacier, first to Lobuche, a vantage point for some spectacular views of the Ama Dablam, Taweche and other peaks and then hike to Gorak Shep for a breather.Everest Base Camp Trekkinig is a direct approach to the foot of the worlds highest mountain. and Mt Everest Base Camp has been a popular destination for Mt.Everest lovers. We also have the opportunity to ascend Kala Pattar [5554m] from where we can get some awesome views of the Himalayan giants which literally numb your senses with breathless admiration that beholds the eye; and makes up for the lung-bursting climb that took you up there. You soon realize it was absolutely worth it. This also includes fantastic views of the south west face of the colossal Mt. Everest. We then trek down to Everest Base Camp at the foot of the Khumbu ice fall before finally making our way back down to Lukla. The Everest Base Camp trek is a classic trek which follows in the footsteps of Hillary & Tenzing and ends with an ascent of Kala Pattar for superb views of Everest. This trek starts with an exhilarating 45 minute mountain flight into the airstrip at Lukla. From here we trek slowly upwards to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar, following the valley of the Dudh Kosi river. It is not long before we glimpse our first view of Everest as it peeks above the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. At this point it is still many days walk away, but with careful acclimatisation it is not long before we find ourselves high up in the heart of the Khumbu region.

On the Everest Base Camp Trek we visit Tengpoche monastery en route before continuing on to our goal, an ascent of Kala Pattar, a rocky outcrop to the west of Everest. This vantage point gives fantastic views of the Ice Fall and South Col as well as the immense south-west face of Everest which was first climbed in 1975 by Chris Bonington's team. This is truly a classic trek which undoubtedly gives one of the best mountain views in the world. Accommodation and food is provided in the local lodges.
